Educating young generations
Every year, hundreds of students visit the Aeroenergía Wind Farm in Tilarán, Guanacaste.
During these visits, young people learn how a wind generating plant works as well as the importance that the production of energy with renewable sources has for Costa Rica and the world.
All of Grupo Aeroenergía´s electricity generating plants have been certified as friendly with the environment (ISO 140001:2004).
Nowadays, Costa Rica generates approximately 94% of its electricity with clean sources, the highest rate in Central America. With this energy matrix, the country avoids - to a high degree - pollution and high expenses for oil imports.
Costa Rica aims to produce all its energy with clean sources in 2021.
